Route Climbed: Drove up Date Climbed: Sometime in 1965
Went to the top of this small mountain when I was just a kid. We'd recently moved to Atlanta and were seeing all of the sights in the vicinity. There used to be a lot of rural countryside between Atlanta and Kennesaw Mountain, but driving there now it's just like one enormous cancer of subdivisions, shopping centers, gas stations, parking lots, etc. Now that cancer is headed north toward the Applachians. It's pretty sobering to have witnessed the steady creep of destruction toward the high country.

Route Climbed: Main Trail Date Climbed: Fall 2003Hiked the main trail back in the fall of 2003. Great trail to train on. You can also continue on to Little Kennesaw, which is what we did.
