An August shower crosses the Kigluaik front as seen from Pilgrim Hot Springs (40 miles NNE of Nome). The highest peak visible is the one on the right, with the little gendarme on its left skyline that can be seen at full screen size. This is Peak 3635, the second highest of the Crater Creek peaks.
The trees in the picture are cottonwoods that survive in this generally treeless area only because of the hot springs.
