| I did this with a foursome of good friends.Our original plan was Esmeralda but with a forecast of snow and high winds we opted for this. There was snow from the start with a foot and a half of fresh snow near the top. The winds stayed calm and we even had a few sunbreaks on and near the summmit. A great day! | |

| Four tricky creek crossings down low, though none was too deep. Patchy snow started just below Medra Pass, making routefinding a little challenging at times. Amazing views from the peak! | |

| We were going to go up Mount Defiance but wether was bad in the western Cascades. Great views considering we were not excepting much. Rain shadow plays a big role here in the Teanaway Region. | |
