Krcmarov Z'lab (Karcsmar-folyosó)

Very popular winter-route to the ridge of Gerlachovsky-stit. Close to the middle of the couloire you can see a rocky part. It is a 15m UIAA III-IV grade rock climbing without any belaying possibility. It is worth to climb at the right side. When you come back you can rappel at the left side. There are 3 pitons in the wall. You cannot climb up here because it is a difficult overhang. The upper 15-20m is very steep you should use a rope. It is enough if you use a 30m rope in the route. (you can see 2 parties in the route above the rocky part)

in english... it is the official language of summitpost. :-)
So there were no ice and stone falling because it was quite cold weather. In summer it is impossible to climb this route.
The snow conditions weren't ideal because it was powder snow but six parties went up to the ridge in 26th January. They returned from the ridge because of the heavy wind.

dream climb

hopefully in a few years time, I'll try to taste it...great climb just kicks my mind

Be quick because Sliezsky Dom will be a wellness and fitness center soon and it will have terrible prices. Or you have to walk a lot to the enter of the route.

hehehe I know I know...I have some bad experiences with the place which is no longer a mountain chalet but some kind of disgusting hotel from former era with cosmic prices definetely not for simple hiker or climber...

p.s.
As I read... so many parties trying Krcmar daily in recent wintertime? Did they all have paid guidance from Slovak Tatra guides?

Yes it is not the best place in Tatry. :-) But it is the closest one in this valley so we had no other chance. But I prefer Terycho chata and Chata pod Zielenom plese ( I hope I wrote the name well... :-)

I think it changed for bad there about the turn 2004/2005...in the last days of October 2004 we were very lucky to have great low-season promotional discounts and it was a good price of about 250SK, when I came there full of hope in September 2005 I was shocked ...when situation forced me to pay over 600SK for night!

The whole silhouette of the builiding is a real drama for the landscape in my opinion, does anybody like it?

...almost none rocky shleters in Velicka Valley...why?...hmmmm
