La Meije from Ventelon
Ventelon is a small village a bit above La Grave, which was long time abandoned, but now keeps living on. From before its small church you have this unprecedented view on the north face of La Meije. Some 2600 meters of rock and ice slopes are wild, but still allow passages to the highest areas, where the tower og Gran Pic is rising. In the centre, the three summits of La Meije are well seen, on the right is Le Râteau. May 4th, 2013.
