Ladder at Kozia Przełęcz

Having traversed the gentler, north face of Zamarła Turnia the trail descends into the third col - Kozia Przełęcz (Goat Pass) - via an eight-metre-long ladder. Kozia Przełęcz ranks first of the four cols between Mały Kozi Wierch and Kozi Wierch in fatal accidents, probably due to the fact that Orla Perć is intersected by another trail here. (Deaths caused by slippery ground/snow prevail, but there have also been cases of a man who fell off the ladder while trying to take a photo and a woman guide who was killed by a falling rock kicked off the trail by some careless/clumsy person.) I saw only one hiker at Kozia Przełęcz but in summer the trail is normally crowded and the place can get packed with people. 23 October 2012
