Lake Emma
The dry bed of Lake Emma, now nevermore due to a mining diaster. Miners dug too deeply into the Earth from the Sunnyside Mine located outside SIlverton, CO. On a Sunday afternoon while everyone had the day off, one of the shafts collapsed from the weight of the water overhead. It flooded the entire mine and all shafts and as you can see, eliminated the lake. Amazingly, no one died since it happened on a Sunday.
