Re: Nice lakeSorry I didn't respond sooner--haven't checked in for awhile. If you haven't already gotten the info, this lake is on the east flank of Broken Top behind a moraine. From the BT trailhead go a quarter mile or so to the Wilderness sign, then take trail to the right at the fork and follow up toward Broken Hand. There was a story on this lake in the Bend Bulletin sometime in August. Best time to see it though is in early/mid-July when there's still snow/ice.

Name of lake?What is the name of this lake? My cousin and I hiked from Tam McArthur trailhead by 3 Creeks Lake. We tried to get to the lake, but we went too high up Broken Hand, by the time we navigated around it, we were on a ridge too high to the right, and were going to run out of daylight. The lake still looked frozen from where we were and we went Labor Day weekend.
