| Followed ski trails up to the summit ridge. The last section was suprisingly rugged and a little tricky with snow still in the couloirs. Good views all around | ||

| Lake, Penitente, and Tesuque...all via Raven's Ridge. A great hike, great summits (at least Lake and Penitente), but too many people. My favorite part of the hike was Raven's Ridge, and heading over to Penitente Peak which had nobody. | ||

| I demolished the hike up Ravens Ridge. So quick and efficent that someone will probably write a book about it. The only problem is that the knife Edge that seperates Penitente and Leak peak is a tourist congestion F* Fest. Not only do you have to wait in line, to go through certain sections, you also have to listen to them say how easy it was to take the ski lift up and walk over. | ||

| I climbed Lake Peak several times in early 2004, sometimes alone, sometimes with others. It's easy when you work at Ski Santa Fe in the slow season (I was a good boy, clocked out first). I had a wonderful day up there with the woman who a year and a half later became my wife. Climbed again 4.9.06. Some snow in the trees on Raven's Ridge, but easy going. Best half-day thrill around Santa Fe! | ||

| I decided to climb Lake Peak at 5 am when I woke up. It was a great trip but I'm irritated because I forgot my memory card for my camera at home and couldn't take pictures of the wonderful scenery. | ||

| We reached the summit on beautiful clear day in June. Still plenty of snow to deal with in the trees at that time, but nothing above treeline. Great views of Truchas group. And the bristlecones under Deception are way cool! | ||

| This turned out to be a short hike because of the time saved by returning via Tesuque. Nice day but breezy at the top | ||

| rleary | Route Climbed: Raven's Ridge Date Climbed: June 12, 2005 ![]() | |
| It was cold and very cloudy, but there was no lightning at all. We climbed up Raven's ridge to the peak, descended the north-west ridge, dropped down into Nambe bowl, glissaded a bit there, and went down to Nambe lake. From there we walked down the canyon a bit and then climbed a steep, snowy chute back up to Raven's ridge to avoid the seemingly endless slog from Nambe creek back to the wilderness boundary on the Windsor trail. | ||

| Plenty of snow this winter, but made it without snowshoes, only gaiters. Summit ridge was clear of snow and ice. Beautiful day; quite warm and clear. Could see Truchas, Wheeler, even Culebra from the summit ridge! | ||

| Done as a rather long loop including Lake Peak and Penitente Peak as per the maintainer's suggestions (or challenge). See trip report for more. Lets maybe agree to call this 'The High Road' to Santa Fe Baldy' Pics | ||

| I've climbed it three times in the winter and once in the summer. The summer was easier but the winter was much more, uh, interesting. Especially with the final summit ridge coated in ice and snow getting raked by strong winds. Hey, it was an adventure. | ||

| jasont1998 | Route Climbed: Raven's Ridge Trail Date Climbed: August 2003 ![]() | |
| Solo climb, August 2003. Summited Deception, Lake and Tesuque Peaks via the trail that splits off to the right of the Windsor trail @ the Pecos Wilderness gateway, just above the Santa Fe ski basin (this trail needs a name). A steep and challenging climb, I hit Deception, then Lake, and, seeing as how i planned on using a ski run to descend, also made my way to Tesuque Peak, where the microwave towers are located above the ski basin. | ||

| Climbed with my long-time climbing partner, James A. Harrison, of Albuquerque, New Mexico, up Raven's and down through the ski basin. It was a beautiful, clear day, but it was a bit cold and windy along the summit ridge (about 25 degrees w/o wind chill). We used ice axes, but no crampons (they would have been helpful in places). | ||
