Lake Valley, New Mexico

Ruins viewed through the window of ruins in Lake Valley, New Mexico. Lake Valley's population reached as high as 4,000 people in the 1880s only to eventually achieve its current status as a ghost town. In the background is Monument Peak (elev. 5,682 ft.), which is also known as Lizard Mountain because of the rock formation that bears resemblance to a lizard. Photo taken 4/5/08.
