Unique View

Great shot of the Chute systems... I haven't seen this view before. Thanks. Is that Palemonium Peak on the right?

Use the swivel and tilt on Google Earth to help you identify features

We scrambled out SW from the "3rd class ledge" to take this shot. But you can orient yourself with the swivel and tilt options in Google Earth to answer such questions as "which peak is which". I agree that knob SE of the U-Notch /West Chute is part of Polemonium, if not the actual summit.

Off route below leconte Coulour...

The section on this pic labeled "3rd class ledge"...is this what most folks refer to as the catwalk or is that the ledge in that same picture which is above your line? We actually climbed straight up the first gully encountered along that "3rd class ledge" and it was probably 5.7-5.8 for a pitch until we reached the entrance of LeConte Coulour labled on this pic. We got off route on our climb 2 weekends ago and trying to figure out where we went wrong exactly. We wanted to do the standard LeConte Route. Thanks.
