Lesser Periwinkle

Lesser Periwinkle

Lesser Periwinkle (Vinca minor) is an evergreen, shade-loving ground cover plant from the Apocynaceae Family. The highest spot in Poland where Lesser Periwinkle can be found is at 1100 meters in the Bieszczady Mountains. Flowers appear from March to May and are pollinated by bees and butterflies. This is a poisonous plant, but very attractive and rather uncommon and thus it has been under protection. The Low Beskid - Slope of Mount Woltuszowska - April 25, 2008.
