Lion's Head Kakuhans

Lion's Head is one of the highest peaks in the Kakuhan Range. Lion's Head is across from the Chilkats, on the East side of Lynn Canal, the Northern end of the Inside Passage. You can see the saltwater shoreline in the lower edge of this photo. Beyond the summit you can see Berner's Bay and the Antler River, and the western edge of the Juneau Icefield. Access to this peak is from the back side, via boat across Berner's Bay, from the South. You can launch from the end of the road system that extends northward from Juneau, which ends at Berner's Bay.
