Red Eagle/Mahtotopa/Little Chief
An awesome day, full of laughs and goofing around and dehydration. I'd never seen anyone submerge their entire head in water to drink until reaching Virginia Creek after our group had been without water for a few hours.

Red eagle to Little Chief
A unique solo adventure. Caught a boat from rising sun to just west of Silver Dollar beach at 6pm. I intended to summit Red Eagle the first evening, but enjoyed the sunset in a small patch of moss just below the second false summit, safeguarded by some large boulders, ate some dinner, and slept until I was awoken by some predawn rain. After some deliberating on the weather, and the skies opening up a bit, I made my way to the summit, and cruised over to Mahtotopa. Enjoyed a snack, and summited Little Chief just past noon. I took in the views, and a summit nap before the next wave of clouds moved in. I was just entering the Virginia Creek bushwack when the first bolt of lightening cut through the sky. The next few hours I dealt with heavy downpours and the sound of thunder echoing off the valley walls. One distinct rumble of thunder resonated from behind me, and kept me motivated to get back to trail. I made it to the Virginia falls trail around 4, and to the road before 5. It took a while to get picked up as a hitchhiker, but soon I was returned to Rising sun to my roofless, and flooded wrangler. All things considered, it was a great outing.

Whole Traverse
Did the LC to RE traverse starting at Virginia Falls. Descended to trail and then hiked to stashed canoes at Silver Dollar Beach. Hot sunny, smokey day.
Climb Glacier National Park team Chris Rost, Jennifer Tomsheck, Cory Lehr, Kyle Martin.
Climbed in 2011 with Ely Behrhorst. Took a nap on the summit. I really enjoyed the goat trail traverse around to the backside. This is one of the classic peaks GNP.

West Slope Route
With fellow Many Glacier bellman Levi Webb. We ascended the West Slope Route from the St. Mary Falls TH. We bushwhacked for about 20 minutes after crossing the bridge at Virginia Falls before picking up elk trails. One particularly well-traveled trail was flagged with orange tape, and made the ascent through the thick forest much more enjoyable. After busting out onto the open slopes of the west face, we made an ascending traverse around some rocky outcroppings before finding a Class III break in the algal reef. From there, we gradually ascended on broad goat trails until reaching an obvious Class II scree and talus field that made for an easy, yet tiring final 1000+ feet to the summit. Retraced our steps on the descent, and ran into a small black bear on the trail on the way back.

Little ChiefClimbed on epic day after Red Eagle and Mahtotopa with descent toward Virginia Falls to reach GTS road in the dark.
Also climbed 8/26/99 with Vern returning from Almost a Dog
