1979 - fire. Still a massive scar on the mountain. Pretty scary to tour, actually.

What do you mean "Dogs packin'?" Backpacking or packing heat? If packing heat - our dogs don't have opposable thumbs, so - we do that for them.
This area has not yet suffered from the dreaded beetle issues, thank goodness!
