... from the ridge to the south. The Ball Pass route doesn't climb this ridge, Ball Pass itself is the highest point on the route. We spent an extra day exploring the area, and scrambling a bit on the ridge south of the pass. Aoraki / Mount Cook National Park, New Zealand.
