Looking toward Mount Rogers...

Looking toward Mount Rogers from the top of Haw Orchard Mountain on December 7, 2003. Snow where I was standing was over a foot deep. Winds were gusting at better than 30 mph with temperatures well below freezing. I loved every second of it and hated to leave.

I was there!

Hey.. I just realized the date that you took the photo .. I was there on Wilburn ridge that day... I can attest to the high winds and bitter cold weather. Read trip report~t

Ha! That's great! I was aching to be able to climb Wilburn Ridge that day, but I had to get back to Charlotte. I had to pry myself off of Haw Orchard and get back to Massie Gap where my wife and son were waiting.
