Looking up at the crux of Mahler's east ridge (August 29, 2004). The lighting isn't that great in this photo and examining it the day I took I can't even pick out my route of descent. Hasn't voted | Yeah, I'd say it was similar to Kit Carson's north ridge but the rock wasn't near as stable. I'd say easily one-in-two holds was worthless and would pull out if you put any weight on it. Consequently it was quite a bit scarier than Kit Carson and took even greater care.
