Overview

PAGE UNDER CONSTRUCTION Situated in gorgeous Tuolumne Meadows, Low Profile Dome provides excellent climbing at a variety of grades with a short approach. The scenery at the base is plentiful, with views from the anchors of the many climbs being worthy of five stars (and the climbs as well). Low Profile Dome features a 5 minute approach and short "pitches" which can be combined to one long pitch, or would be useful as a dome to enjoy high quality climbing and get acclimated to multi-pitch climbing with a new partner. LPD holds two classics with the Golfer's Route (5.7 R) being the most popular due to the easy grade and knob climbing. The other classic is Darth Vader's Revenge (5.10a) which provides outstanding climbing and is well protected by Tuolumne standards. THIS IS A NEW PAGE, PLEASE CONTRIBUTE MORE PHOTOS IF YOU HAVE THEM!!!! THANK YOU

Getting There

From the Meadows Store, take 120 West for 5.5 miles and park at a paved pullout on the South side of the road. The trail for the dome is located across the road by a snow/road marker, follow the obvious trail and it will deliver you to the base of the Golfer's Route

Red Tape

The dome is located within Yosemite National Park boundaries and as such, entrance fees or passes are generally required. Additionally, Tioga Road (Highway 120) is a road subject to seasonal closures.

Camping

The nearest campground is the Tuolumne Meadows Campground located within the park boundary several miles East of the dome. Dispersed camping is permitted in certain areas along 120 outside of the park on the Eastern side.

Children

Children

Children refers to the set of objects that logically fall under a given object. For example, the Aconcagua mountain page is a child of the 'Aconcagua Group' and the 'Seven Summits.' The Aconcagua mountain itself has many routes, photos, and trip reports as children.
