| WMC hike led by byates. Beautiful fall day. My first visit to the Oquirrhs. Wow, I just checked and I actually spelled Oquirrh right on the first try. | ||

| Great peak we did it as a backpacking trip. Started in Ophir canyon camped at the cabin south of Dead Ox Pass. Next day packed over the peak continued north and dropped down the valley on the north side. | ||

| Dean | Via Ophir ![]() Date Climbed: Jun 21, 2010 | |
| Did you know there are 13 stream crossings on this one from the end of the Ophir Road? We went up the west drainage to the ridge and then back via Dead Ox pass (where we saw about 60 elk) The ridgeline that is north of Dead Ox pass looks like the best way to go up and down this one. Did this with my son in law who is vacationing from Washington state. 3500 feet of elevation gain is a great conditioner. The scenery back in there is beautiful. | ||

| Pfeiffer75 | Climbed this peak twice ![]() Date Climbed: Mar 13, 2009 | |
| I climbed this in March of 2009 and in May of 2009 leading a WMC trip. Both times via Ophir Canyon and Dead Ox Pass. Saw about 200 elk on the May trip. A beautiful peak especially when viewed from the north. Would like to traverse over to Rocky Peak someday. Also, what is with that old comm's shack west of the summit with all of the old decaying batteries in it? | ||

| seanpeckham | ski tour from Ophir Canyon ![]() Date Climbed: Feb 7, 2009 | |
| Several inches of very fresh snow made it possible to ski all the way from the parking area, excluding numerous creek crossings. Many sunny or windward aspects were virtually devoid of previous snow at all elevations, but we were able to ski from a couple hundred feet down from the summit. The weather was supposed to be mostly cloudy, but we had a lot of nice periods of relatively clear weather, though we couldn't see anything from the summit. It was a very warm day for February. The solitude was very nice, but from the summit ridge we could hear automatic weapons firing in the distance on the SL valley side (!) | ||

| vanman798 | Via Ophir Canyon ![]() Date Climbed: Feb 7, 2009 | |
| Skinned up with a group of five others via Ophir Canyon. It took us six hours to summit. The west aspect was very wind swept but we found a drainage with plenty of snow to ski down. Nice place, I enjoyed the solitude. There is a warm spring in Ophir Canyon which feeds a creek we had to ford several times on the approach. | ||

| mtn runr | Lowe Pk from Butterfield Canyon ![]() | |
| I've climbed this peak many times from Butterfield Canyon, including one memorable trip during the general deer season when we really shouldn't have been there. Another time I found a Golden Eagle, freshly dead, with no obvious sign of trauma (a natural death?) Of course I would be admitting to a crime if I said I took primary wing feathers and claws, so I won't say that. | ||

| Joseph Bullough | Route Climbed: Ophir Canyon Date Climbed: May 14, 2005 ![]() | |
| Climbed on a sunny spring day from Ophir Canyon. Followed the south ridge from Dead Ox Pass, then descended the west slopes. Afternoon heating made the snow so soft we were post-holing even with snowshoes. | ||
