Lower Ice of the 'Fang'

This was the conditions of the base of the popular ice climb in Vail called the 'Fang'. It had fallen over twice already this season, but seems to be building up real nice again. If nothing else it looks completely spectacular! Height is approximately 40 feet. 2-10-07. © Daniel Dalton 2007.

a difficult one, it seems...!! How do you call in english that formations: Coliflower?

This is a pretty hard ice climb, at least for me! When the fang is complete (this is only the lower half, it broke twice this season) it is a WI5+ route. Hopefully next ice season I will be able to attempt routes like this! And you are correct, this type of formation/structure is called a cauliflower.
