Lewis River offers many different types of scenery, from old growth in the Gifford Pinchot National Forest to multiple waterfalls along the course of the river, and views of Mt. St. Helens. These waterfalls can be reached after passing through Cougar, Washington. As you can see here in this image the water roars during freshet and is a much milder river during summer months. At the Lower Falls there is a great campground and a river trasil thata meanders along the river for many, many miles to the remaining Middle and Upper Falls.
