Luisin

Overview

Luisin is the mountain of Salvan near Martigny. The panorama is magnificient because the Mont Blanc massif is very near.
The route of the ladders is a well known vertigo route, steep but secured with chains and ladders.

Luisin is the main summit of the chain which spreads from Tour Sallière in eastern direction. The Emaney collar separates the summit from the Tour Sallière massif. After the Luisin the chain carries on with the Gollette collar and the summits of the Petits Perrons. The valleys around Luisin are Salafe in the north and Emaney in the south. Lower in the east we find the elbow of the Rhone valley at the level of Martigny.

Station CFF at Martigny:027 / 722 21 21or station CFF at Vernayaz: 027 / 764 14 28 or Station SNCF Chamonix
take then the Mont-Blanc Express, Martigny CFF - Vernayaz - Salvan - or Chamonix - Vallorcine - Finhaut - Salvan

By car :
Highway Montreux - Martigny exit Martigny direction Salvan - Les Marecottes over Pont du Gueuroz.

Nearest airport : Geneva Cointrin
