Lunch out of the Wind, DeGarmo Saddle

Mike eating lunch on the ne "corner" of the head of DeGarmo Canyon. Hellacious staggering wind on the broad crest that day. The background is the continuation of the ridge that tops out as Warner Peak. While I've never gone all the way to the radio towers, I think the approach is more fun going more or less straight up and east from bathhouse or even Willow Creek than following the roads up. Following the "rim" and contouring the canyon heads is neat. Saw antelope, bighorn ewe very close, sage grouse, mule deer, prairie falcon, birds, rabbits and various rodents. Roads make for quick quick down. May 1984
