I remember this spot well.

I spent a couple hours freezing there while we tried to pull down a stuck rope from the top of the Alley. Fun times.

Re: I remember this spot well.

LOL, Brian! At least you guys had snow covering some of the choss! Looks like it was quite an adventure at any rate. Hard decision- whether to be freezing on the security of snow on Ugly, or in relatively warm weather in the summer on rock that disinigrates beneath your feet!

Re: I remember this spot well.

Well, we had about half snow/half ice on our climb so the security was not there. Still..............I might choose that over graham cracker climbing. :- )

Re: By the way....

nice shot of you, too! Compared with free climbing thing, aid is a pretty weird activity (esp. going up a bolt ladder), but its applicability is obvious. If you're ever down in this neck of the woods gimme a hollar & we'll do some of that in The Valley (quite possibly sans bolts)! We'll have to hook up again also the next time I'm in OR (+ Bill, Radek, whoever else can make it...).

Re: By the way....

I'll definitely let you know when I get down to CA again. I've only messed around with real aiding once. Man, was I slow. :- ) Let me know when you are up here and we'll get the crew together for a climb.
