This is the tattoo I've had on my arm since I was 18. (If you believe it, this is to cover up an India ink squiggly cross I got when I was 11 hanging out with cool 13 & 15 yr. old neighbor kids. They put little ones on their hands and though I was brave with a bigger one on my bicep... I don't overly like tattoos, but too me this is an expression of the land that cradles my life, but also can and apparently will rescind it. The other symbol I identify myself with is my grandpa Oscar's house key that has been around my neck since his passing in 1992. The key is part of the original 1991-2003 "LOKI" word puzzle LOGO. It was a large letter "L", then the handle of the skeleton key is the "O" and Key all together spell L-O-KEY. It is still implied in the current 2003 "LOKI" Logo but it is the key is simplified. The ends are both a letter "L" one way and the "Key" flange the other way and both have swirling arms that make it round and perhaps show movement like a galactic spin. I intend for as much as what I can do to be logical with a meaning, sometimes just for jest but ideally for deeper, life sustaining reasons. To be frank, the Loki name fit our company's attributes in that our gear changes its shape and is sometimes tricky, and it fit with our viking last name Anderson. Loki the Scandinavian god of mischief was famed for changing his shape and playing tricks on gods, men, and other mythical beings. Some myths tell of Loki doing foul deeds and worse turning against the gods and bring about an end to the world as it is known... Some have suggested that this tale was added in the Christian era to further demonize their mythologies. I don't believe in any mythology, so I liken our use of the name to that if Dirt Devil vacuum cleaner and myriad titles of hot sauces. However I prefer the "LOW-KEY" side of the name because it ties to me and my connection to my grandfather Oscar.
