| cascadetraveler | Many summits ![]() Date Climbed: Aug 20, 2002 | |
| I have visited the summit of Mary's peak several times. I am hoping to do a winter ascent/teliski descent. I have always felt this mountain was unique. It is a cascade peak marooned in the coast range. Great view of the coast at sundown. good times. The above date indicates day I put in the most miles hiking on mary's. | ||

| Getting over a cold so I decided to do something easier. Nice hike. Very blustery up top. Saw the only other person there that day at the summit. Some guy with a 75 lb. pack with "Jolly" written all over everything he had who was training for something bigger. Few inches of snow and rime on the top 500 feet or so, drifting to deeper spots in areas. Could see from St. Helens to Thielsen and the Three Sisters to the ocean. Finished up my Christmas shopping afterwards in Woodburn. | ||

| Totally sent that last shuffle through the wildflowers. Got wife (who carried the baby, my turn in a few months) and me out of the valley's pollen smog. Could see Hood, Jefferson, Sisters, but pretty hazy. | ||

| Ran up as part of the Mary's Peak Marathon which started at Oregon State campus. The beer party on the summit was a bonus, but next time I'll drive. | ||

| Have hiked this several times; snowshoed once. Relatively easy hike (and short if east trail taken). Wildflowers and views are amazing in the spring. | ||

| When I lived in Corvallis, this was a popular road bike ride. On occasion, we would hide our bikes and hike to the summit. Once, I also skied to the summmit with my daughter on my back. | ||

| Beautiful day, temp in the 30's and little wind. Fun hike, the last half of the trail had many spots of snow turned into ice. The summit meadow had at least a foot of snow in most places, the parts in the shade were very icy. Had to do some step kicking at one spot of the trail, icy snow at a 35 degree sidehill, which I avoided on the way down by taking a higher route in the sun. Amazing view at the summit, from Rainier to the north to Thielsen to the south. 1:15 up, 55 minutes down. | ||

| bmcnary1 | Fun Weather ![]() Date Climbed: Nov 13, 2006 | |
| Now that I am attending OSU in Corvalls I have a good chance to explore a new part of the country. The weather today was pretty rad with heavy winds and rain/sleet/snow. It made for quite a fun impromptu romp around the woods and peak. I was surprised how much timber has fallen onto the road. There were about 5 or more trees laying on the road going up. | ||

| Parked at upper lot. Strong winds but the clouds were high enough to see almost to the Sisters. Just a trace of snow on the ground at the summit. | ||

| A great hike in heavy rain. We reached the windy summit right as night fell then had a slippery but fun run down in the dark. | ||

| A beautiful autumn day for a hike. The vine maple in bright fall colors really added to the experience. Couldn't see the ocean from the summit (looked like it might have been fogged in) but there were great views of the Cascade volcanoes and the Coast Range. My 14 year old son's first Oregon county high point. | ||

| Topo Nut | East Trail ![]() Date Climbed: Jul 12, 2006 | |
| Yes, getting to the summit from the parking lot is like falling off a log. However, a nice alternative is to park at the East Trail parking area and hike the 1500 feet to the summit from there. The trail has great switchbacks and goes through a virgin forest. Download the GPS map from my post on www.TopoShare.org | ||

| Me and my Girl made this insane summit! I hiked 0.00001 miles from the parking area to the peak. We only rested 3 times and made it in just under 4 hours. My exhaustion overwhelmed my senses but the view made the trip well worth while! | ||

| The trail was quite level with gigantic switch backs, but at around 10 miles round trip its definitely a decent workout. | ||

| Living in Corvallis for seven years I made multiple trips up Marys. Good snow activities in the winter. Very nice old growth areas on the peak. Nice trail system also, a few loop options available. Great views of the Cascades | ||

| cmc56789 | Mary's Peak Snowshoe Date Climbed: Mar 22, 2006 | |
| I had done this peviously in December 2004 on a misty viewless day. For March, 2006, I snowshoed up the road to the Mary's Peak campground and took the meadow's edge trail to the meadow and summit. The meadows are quite beautiful when snow-covered. Windy and cold on top with views of the Willamette Valley and the Cascades from Diamond Peak to the base of cloud covered Mount Hood. | ||

| A delightful day in Corvallis came to a lovely end when my friends and I climbed up to the top and enjoyed the sunset. The clouds rolled around in the valleys below us, and the weather was simpley perfect. I've had a soft spot for this peak ever since. | ||
