Matterhorn summit from the East
Taken from 7500-8000 ft on the trail to Echo Lake (Hurricane Divide)in August, 1974. I do not believe anyone has posted any picture taken from this vantage. Makes one wonder how anyone has been able to climb this face, considering the carefree joyousness with which the limestone breaks and hurtles into space even without a load on it.
The image history is slide,1974; Kodak produced 8-by as present to Dad, ~1980; slide lost; .5 gig scan of 8-by, last weekend: 2 hours of PS, mostly successive sharpenings and resizings by me. At the time taken I thought this was one of my best.
