Windy and alone.
I thought I was alone when I saw I had the only car at the trailhead. Then the wind hit while I was on the Notch and I felt like I was the Omega Man!

To the Grotto and back
Date Climbed: Feb 17, 2007
Hiked with my wife and son to the Grotto and back. We got a late start and just made it to the gate before the ranger closed it at 4:30pm. The next day we visited Carlsbad Caverns with my wife relatives who live in Roswell, New Mexico.

We hiked Mckittrick Canyon as a side trip while visiting nearby Carlsbad Caverns. Wonderful scenery! --mark d.

Many times
Great place for viewing wildlife. Try to go on a weekday, when the "crowds" (such as they are) aren't so bad. Make sure you don't get locked in!
