The road having a creek run through it was really annoying at the beginning and added too much mileage. The summit was worth it, but the distance was killer. Never trust a map of the Salish Range. Hiked with Rebelgrizz and JFK.
The washed out road made this road hike a round trip of 15.3 miles and over 3000' of gain...very strenuous! But the summit views and the lookout made it all worthwhile...summitted with The Levitator and a spooked Kitty. Saw a black bear running away from us on the way down...always cool to see a bear!
"After the first glass, you see things as you wish they were. After the second, you see things as they are not. Finally, you see things as they really are, which is the most horrible thing in the world."
