Mile 50 Security Checkpoint

This is Mile 50 security checkpoint from the Timika side. Left side is going up, right is for traffic coming down. This post is manned by Freeport SRM and also Brimob and at times TNI. These guys carry automatic weapons.Staff check in with their Freeport ID here and also have an ID card unique to the vehicle which is also scanned. Vehicles are usually checked here. Buses bringing employees up or down stop at either side and all employees decamp and walk through the centre turnstyels.
