Minnesota's Purple Pride

We stopped numerous times to photograph many of the strange fungi growing along the path. Most interesting was the Cortinariuis violaceus, commonly known by our group as Purple Pride. I guess it is edible but leaves a bitter aftertaste especially if consumed late in the season particular near the playoffs.
