High Point
Brief foray into the Mokelumne and ascent of its high point at Round Top. Views into it were blinding due to the combination of sun and haze, but definitely interesting to see an area I'd heard about for years yet never got close to visiting...
I've enjoyed this portion of the Sierras most of my life, beginning with a backpacking trip in my youth, the year 1973. In more recent years, I can't get enough of the winter views from the high points Elephants Back, Round Top, The Sisters. While I no longer ski, snowshoes have been very useful here during days when the snow is fresh.
