| We went through the lake (reached via the short 'ferrata' on the left of the regular trail). It is not easy to identify the exact point where to leave the cairns leading towards the Col Colmet, as there is no longer any sign or mark. At about 2630 m., turn on the right up some scree; after about 10 minutes you will start seeing a series of small cairns pointing the way up. There are traces of an old path here and there, but most of the way is "hors sentier". | |

| Gangolf ... it's impossible to follow a "designed" path here. Over Lago di Pietrarossa this is a true "NoManLand". Only stones and, if you are lucky, snow. Great lonely ascent, far away from popular summits. | |

| Long and tricky trip. The ascent as well as the descent didn't run as smoothly as we had planned. Both ways we lost our path. Very nice views though and very nice lakes (to cool your feet from jumping from rock to boulder). | |
