Montagna di Vernà

Overview

The Montagna di Vernà is situated in the North-Eastern edge of the Sicily, belonging at the Peloritani range. It is harsh and wild because of its typical Mediterranean vegetation and furrowed by beautiful gorges. From the side of Fondachellli-Fantina cause of its particular structure it shines in the afternoon.

Getting There

From NORTH Sicily

If you come from Palermo airport or Messina get the motorway A20 until the exit to Terme Vigliatore, then get the road SS 113 until Terme Vigliatore town and then get the road to Rodì-Milici(near a gasoline  station) and after you overcame the two hamlets, follow the road running always beside the Patrì river, pass the hamlet of Fantina and then after last 7 Km you arrive at Fondachelli, and there from the hamlet of Chiesa go up until the Dorsale dei Peloritani path the arrives at the bottom  of the Montagna di Vernà after overcoming the hamlet of Fighieri and the crossroad to Antillo town.

From Terme Vigliatore to the  town it will take around 30 minutes.

From SOUTH Sicily

From Catania airport get the motorway A18 until Giardini Naxos just after Taormina and then get  the road SS 185 to Francavilla di Sicilia and there to Portella Mandrazzi after that you will meet the crossoroad to Fondachelli Fantina.

From Giardini Naxos to Fondachelli it will take around 50 minutes.

From Catania airport get the motorway A18 until  Taormina there get the road SS114 until Sant'Alessio Siculo and there get the route that bring to Antillo  from where other paths arrive to the Montagna di Vernà.

From Taormina  to Antillo it will take around 55 minutes.
