When there are thousands of mountains out there to climb, a great way to help you decide which ones might be more interesting to climb and also give you a good variety of places to visit here in our beautiful state, a prominence list can be very helpful. I do find lists to be interesting, but I don't really climb off of them. That being said, I have attained the summit of 54 of the top 100 prominence peaks in Montana so far. If you extend the list to include all of the P2k peaks, that would make it 69 out of 146. Plenty more exploring to do! Happy climbing!
