From Càrtore and Valle dei Briganti  Sucess!

Long route: more than 4h to climb (Val di Teve-valle dei Briganti-cresta nord) and 3h for the descent (Vallone di Sèvice).
Very beautiful sceneries. The Alta Val di Teve is wonderful!

A long way to the summit  Sucess!

We started from Càrtore (944m) and rised up the Teve Valley (despite of the ban for rockfall danger...) up till Capo di Teve. From there, we climbed the steep gravelly slopes to Bocchetta di Teve, in the near of Capanna di Sèvice hut. From there, along the ridge, to the summit (3h 45min, 2484m)

For the descent, we toke the path that, from Capanna di Sèvice, reach Passo le Forche, along Vallone di Sèvice and Monte Rozza south-west side (very hot!!!). From Passo le Forche (1211m), again to Càrtore (3h from the summit)

With up and down, more than 1600m of elevation gain... Not bad!

Velino by Diplomats  Sucess!

John McArthur, then Counselor of the New Zealand embassy in Rome and later a distinguished ambassador, two of his colleagues from Paris, and I climbed Velino in October 1969 via the Canalino. It was difficult, and cold on top, but the view was splendid. From Velino we walked over to Pizzo Cafornia and descended from there to Massa d'Albe.
