Monument Basin Pinnacles

Monument Basin is a spectacular assortment of towers and pinnacles far from paved roads in the southeastern section of the Island in the Sky District.

Most people see Monument Basin from an overlook beside the paved road that goes through Island in the Sky, but this view is from a lower and closer point. This view is from the White Rim where the 4wd road that loops through the district for nearly 100 miles skirts the edge of Monument Basin.

	Hasn't voted	Excellent comparison! There are many places in this part of the country that look like something from a Tolkien creation, even a few places that could pass for Mordor. Come see it sometime!
