Gorgeous shots of the most beautiful peaks on earth

All of us mountain-addicted know the names, plan to climb the one or the other or just admire them from the distance:

Matterhorn, Ama Dablam, Alpamayo, Machhapuchare, K2 and many more

I believe it would be nice to have an album, providing easy access to stunning shots of these mountains.

So I start the thing off with some beautiful views of Matterhorn, where I was blessed having the opportunity to take them this August.

Please add your selected gorgeous shots of beautiful peaks, to create a source of stamina for rainy office days... ;o))))

I like the idea, but is there a way you can just have the pictures on the page without having to go to a gallery after a certain number? Because that means that all the rest of the mountains which get submitted are going to be in one of those tiny galleries. I think it'd really make the page good if you could find a way to keep them all at the size the first 10-15 are at and all on the page itself. Cheers-

Herb--

You can hack some html to do this, but here's an example:

Worth Another Look

and Thephotohiker wrote an article on how to do it here:

First, nice idea!

I think it is interesting to see what meager, crappy rocks somebody calls a beautiful mountain or one of the most beautiful peaks in the world. This could be very exciting.

I know that it is all subjective, but IMHO the album should get more censorship to the world famous and beautiful mountains.

Crappy rocks! Are that the Dolomites, you are referring to? The mountains who Messner, no less, has called "the most beautiful in the world" (and he has, as we all know, climbed all fourteen 8000'ers, so he must know what he is talking about).

I agree that many of the great snowclad peaks are also extremely beautiful, for some strange reason especially those of the Andes (see e.g. Alpamayo), but "crappy rocks" is overdoing it!
