Nice Report!

We hiked to Delicate Arch last Friday. My experience was similar to yours in that the trail was very crowded. I couldn't get a photo without anyone in it. It was very windy, which made walking on the ledge interesting. I was glad I was being blown into the rock.

made it there

Hey Dean. I made it to Arches NP. I did love the place. I saw a sunrise, and a sunset there. I got up early and went to Delicate Arch to see the sunrise. It was awesome! There was just me and one group. You could take plenty of pictures of the Arch, with nobody in the picture, and you had the glow of the rising sun hitting it. It was fantastic. I saw the sunset at the Windows. Even saw a rainbow through one of the Windows. Arches NP is a gem. -Tom

Re: made it there

Way to go Tom. I'm glad you enjoyed the visit and had an opportunity to not be swarmed under during your trek to the Arch.
The place is indeed a gem.

Delicate Arch

I enjoyed your photographs and recollections. Like many visitors here, my heart sinks when I see the herd, going, coming, and lingering. But there was one time, one time that my sister and I were the only humans there, and was it glorious! Since then, I've learned to brace myself, savor the landscape as best as possible, and appreciate the vast array of human creatures along the way.
