| Frigid, yet sunny and gorgeous. On the way down it clouded over and threatened snow, but the long, extremely-enjoyable glissade quickly brought us back down to the "safe" lowlands. | |

| Mt. Adams is my favorite of all the big Cascade cones. It's as fun to climb from all sides as it is to ski down, but the east side is simply the best, from the Devil's Garden and Wilson Glacier to Bird Creek Meadows and the Mazama. | |

| I ended up solo on this trip at the last minute when a partner got injured. Not feeling ready to solo Rainier I did the dog route on Adams instead, which was a little dissapointingly easy climbing, but amazing views and conditions. Perfect cramponing snow with an early start from 9k ft. Would be brilliant with a ski descent. | |

| Climbed with papa. Planned on 3 days, but decided to hike out on summit day. Not entirely clear, could see down below us, and a bit of the goat rocks. Interesting being in the clouds though. Quite pretty. | |

| Great day to climb a snow-covered mountain as it was 90 degrees F down at the base. Incredible climb, but pretty grueling. Too much sun and a bit of altitude started to get to me half-way up the climb from Lunch Counter to Piker's Peak. Nevertheless, the 2000 ft glissade on the way down made everything worth it... people are not kidding when they call it "epic"! | |

| with 8 other buddies 7 made it + me... Snow is melting fast, road is dusty and clear, parking lot is busy, trail is dusty at least half up, then snow farily steady but rocks coming out, glissade chutes are still clear but melting fast I wouldn't expect them to be running for much more than another couple weeks at most till those rocks start poking out. Day was not overcast but views totally obscured by hazy smog or perhaps smoke from nearby forest fires (?) only Loo-Wit (St. Helens) came visible towards our descent. Trailhead 5600' up to camp at Goat Flats 9300' (about 4 hours with heavy packs) water running near campsites very convenient started at 5AM made summit 12276' (+2975) in 2-4 hours, glissade chutes not runnable before 9-10AM so don't start too early. About 30 minutes down with glissades then 2 hours down from Lunch Counter. Cute young chickadees working in the restaurant at Trout Lake gas station, food is good place is clean service is slow but girls are cute. Awesome views of mountain over cow fields on road into town. Drove via I5 south then I205 then 84 east exit Hood River brigde toll only 75c no waiting. Less than 5 hours to ranger station sans speeding, could be done quicker, + 30 minutes or so to trailhead. | |
