Grabbed this on the way to camp in Dusy Basin before hitting Thunderbolt the next day. Followed a nice rib on the left side. Easy going and very fast. Incredible summit views. Oh, and, thanks to whoever left the Clif bar in the register box - I was starving!

Great views up there. I did it car to car with my dog Mason in six hours. Lots of Sky Pilot on the ascent.

Got to do half the climb as a snow climb in one of the chutes ... and other half was a nice boulder scramble. Went up on one of the ribs, which had a few short sections of fun Class 3. Still a ton of snow up in the Sierras.

Lots of talus hopping on the way but a great, airy summit

My first solo summit. A not too difficult climb, fairly obvious route and a spectacular view.

Climbed this long before I was in summit post. Went up a gully full of snow. Incredible views of the palisades.

After climbing from Bishop Pass, a straight forward class 2, Agassiz rewards with a spledid veiw of the Palisades. I summited on the first day of my '04 loop trip from the Bishop Pass trail, over Napsack Pass, and Potluck Pass, then returned via the JMT to the Dusy basin trail and return.

I took Matthew's suggestion and headed up the 1st righthand chute on the West side. Once I obtained the chute the rock was very nice class 2-3 all the way, a much more enjoyable climb than expected. I stayed toward the ridgeline to keep the difficulty up, but near the top it is possible to exit the chute via class 2.

A steep class 2 route with lots of scree and talus. Snow in the chute made climbing a little difficult. Had to move to steeper sections (almost class 3 but not really) to avoid most of the snow. View from the summit was spectacular!

I could not resist to bag this one on the way back from Dusy Basin. After missing the right chute, I ended up scrambling over a Class 4 headwall before reaching the summit ridge. 1 hr 20 min up and 50 min down (from/to Bishop Pass). What a view!

Addendum: I ran into bennovak(see below) on the summit not knowing that he is also an SP-er.

A real nice day hike and climb. The rock up the typical shoot close to the pass is stable and the view of the Palisades from the summit is incredible. You can hear rockfall from the palisades. Long lake and Saddlerock have plenty of Brook trout in them and the Dusy Basin lakes have some Goldens. Not a bad idea to bring a fishing pole.

Amazing day for a great climb - no clouds, no tstorms. Left TH at 5:50, Bishop Pass at 8:00. Took one of the West Face chutes just S of main chute and then slogged to a smaller rib to get to some fun class 3/4 rock. Summit at 10:40. Spent an hour there gawking. Back at TH at 4:30 PM. We were the guys who ran into Diggler on the way back, but were too frazzled to give good info. All in all a great summit and plenty of fun variations on the W slope.
