Nice short hike with no others around. Seemed like hundreds of goats everywhere you looked.

I combined Edwards with Argentine and Wilcox for an awesome tour of the drainage.

An awesome hike from Stevens Gulch Trailhead. Check out my trip report in which we summitted Edwards, Grays, Torreys, and Kelso Mountain in one day.

This was a really fun winter outing...only saw two people all day which is a sharp contrast to the summer activity in this area. I love this area....Torrey's is so impressive! Had a fun glissade down to the valley for a mix of rock jumping/post-hole-hell in between the boulders.

We parked at the Waldorf Mine and followed the old road to the SW as it gradually climbed up to Argentine Pass. From the pass it is an easy ridge walk north to the summit of Edwards. We returned rapidly to the car by glissading snowfields down the east face back to the mine.

Nice short hike and easy way to get out. Great views of Grays and Torreys and better yet, no people!

The wildflowers in the valley near the mine are stunning. Well worth the trip in the summer.

Lot's of snow on the trail up to Argentine Pass. Some snow fields on the East Ridge. Used the ice axe often. Steady postholing climb up to the pass. Didn't see anyone on the trail or on the ridge. Had Horseshoe Basin to myself. Beautiful views of Grays, Torreys, Bierstadt and Evans.

It started as a pleasant day. Once on top of Edwards the weather started getting dark to the west behind Grays. Got back to the truck via the loop over McClellan Mountain. The 4x4 trip in was an added adventure.

Our group climbed Edwards after summitting Argentine Peak, which lies two miles to Edwards' south. We finished the day by climbing up Mount Wilcox before returning to the Guanella Pass Road. It was another brilliant, bluebird day in January of '04! A trip report is available here.

Fresh snow above 13,400 ft. I reached the summit at 8:30 a.m. Clouds were accumulating all around so I went directly home the way I came up, instead of bagging McClellan and Grays as I had planned. Made it home by about noon. A fun, solo climb up the north facing couloir.
