Re: Awesome,

Weather it was too good, it gived us lots of burns on faces and arms :)). Great climb and very beautiful mountain. Also we found enough snow to ruin our plans but it was nice anyway :). When we descent from Mytikas, just before last up to Skala, we choosed to descent direct to the route that round all the peaks (at left). It was scary most that we found some snow... very steep and with lots of scree. We found out later that it was a shortcut that it is used by climbers, also it was marked. From that route we couldnt go to the refuge A cause of the snow, it was very steep and without crampons hard to pass it so we gone to the Muses Plateau and then to the refuge A. Great and beautiful routes. Just 2 days wasnt enough :). I liked a lot and the Enipeea Canion, really beautiful views! Thanks Adam!

Re: Awesome,

Congratulations for making good plans and following your dreams. You got the summit! It's unfortunate when snow conditions force you to change your other plans but it sounds like you made the best of it and it worked out. It's true, the Enipeas area is so pretty! Thank you for sharing your photos with me. I really enjoyed them.

Topo?

Thanks for posting such a detailed trip report! As a native Greek who fell in love with the mountains in the Cascades, I am finally traveling back home next week to attempt The Mountain Of The Gods.

One question: where did you get a topo map? It seems that the few Greek websites I know of are down...Were there any available to buy in Litohoro?

Re: Topo?

Hey Tania, that's great that you're planning to go for Olympus. I can't remember which website I ordered my map off of, but I bet I can find my copy of it if you would like to borrow it. I see you live nearby in Seattle. I could mail it to you or just give it to in person if you're ever up in the Edmonds area. I think I have this version, but I'm not sure until I look for it. As for availability in Litohoro, I'm really not sure.

Re: Topo?

Thanks gimpilator! My mother actually just found the exact same map at a bookstore in Athens, so I should be good with not getting lost. Thanks for the kind offer!

I'll post next week about how the attempt goes.

Good Job

Found your composition informative. Am envious, like the way your experience unfolded. Am glad you were rewarded for your efforts.
