Good steep trail, lots of snow and wind at the top.
with austin in blowing snow. Done this hike several times, always a good workout.
Went to climb Mt. Ellinor but the ranger said it was between winter and summer routes so opted for Mt. Rose.
snow at 3400 feet. less than one foot deep on the summit. i hate this hill, but it's only an hour from the house and 3 hours round-trip hiking time.
Hannah my crazy climbing daughter,Ryan and I climbed to the top and enjoyed a misty cold lunch. a picture perfect day in the olympics.
Mt. Rose is good exercise and certainly doesn't have large crowds, but if you're after the view, I prefer Ellinor.
