| OlympicMtnBoy | Nice Fall Colors ![]() Date Climbed: Sep 30, 2012 | |
| Climbed with my wife. Rose is her first Olympic climb. Great colors at the top near the burn area! Loved the aloneness we had at the summit. Took the loop trail out and enjoyed views of Ellinor, Pershing, Copper, and Lena. | ||

| Great hike for summer and fall season. Lots of flowers and berries along the trail. You will also see waterfalls and lake throughout the trail. Last mile and half to the peak is a steep climb. But worth it to see Mount Rainier and the rest of scenery of valley. | ||

| Bored with the Gorge and lingering snowpack, thought I'd try something else so hiked up this one. Decent workout. Still tons of snow from 3500 feet on up but nice boot track to follow. Someone really flagged the crap out of this route too. No getting lost on this one. Thought I was at the summit but decided to head out the ridge with a little dip in between. Glad I did, as that was where the real summit was. Tons of goat tracks around and lots of goat hair/fur on the summit rocks and branches there. Think this was about 3 hrs round trip. The descent goes really fast if you double-time it. Think I was doing about 100 feet per minute. Quads will be sore tomorrow. Wish the views would have been better though. Still, not a bad way to get out of the spring rut around Portland. | ||

| Mountainjeff | Nice winter hike... Date Climbed: Dec 20, 2010 | |
| Was going to climb Mt. Lincoln, but the road to Staircase had too much snow. Decided to give Mt. Rose a go instead. Due to social obligations and a late start from trying to get to staircase I only got as far as the split in the trail. There was a significant amount of snow at that elevation. | ||

| Redwic | A Summit At Sunset ![]() Date Climbed: Jun 19, 2009 | |
| Due to major traffic problems just getting to the trailhead from the metropolitan east side of Puget Sound, Gimpilator and I got a very late start. However, we had plenty of light during our ascent and made the summit by sunset. The combination of massive beargrass blooms intermixed with charcoaled trees (leftover from a forest fire several years ago) was very cool to see. Mount Ellinor to the north was very tempting, but we opted to seek out Mount Jupiter the next day. | ||

| gimpilator | Late Start ![]() Date Climbed: Jun 19, 2009 | |
| Redwic and I came out after work and didn't make it to the trail head until 7pm. We were hoping to make it to the summit by sunset and this we were able to accomplish. We were in clouds most of the way but it cleared a little at the top and were able to see Lake Cushman. There was an amazing bloom of bear grass all over the upper portion. We used headlamps to get down and then drove to the Mount Jupiter trail to summit that the next day. 20 miles and over 7000 feet of gain in under 24 hours. Wahoo! | ||

| awilsondc | First Summit of '09 ![]() Date Climbed: May 25, 2009 | |
| Good little hike. Plenty of exercise, and not too many people on the trail for such a popular hike and on memorial day weekend. I'm going to have to head up earlier in the day next time, as the sun glare washed out most of the view. Good times though... | ||

| tsrowley | Excellent Training ![]() Date Climbed: Sep 6, 2008 | |
| Wow what a climb. Excellent ascent and descent trainer. Unfortunately the clouds swallowed us up on the summit, so we had no views, but lots of fun anyway. Took the left fork up and ridge route down. The fire damage is still there, but the trail is easy to follow. I'll be coming back to this one alot. | ||

| tleaf | Quick Conditioner ![]() Date Climbed: Oct 4, 2007 | |
| I've tortured myself many a time on this mountain, having climbed it well over 20 times. I love it! Eat a Snickers bar just before, take off the jacket at #5 switchback, swig a drink of water at #17 (used to be #21) and fly up to the summit. There is no rest. No flat spots. The only regrets now is that the forest service didn't stop the wildfire in 2005. Now the trail is not only tough as nails, but it will be scarred for many decades to come. | ||
