Suddenly Seymour  Sucess!

Fred Roman brought me up here - a hot day for the area I am told. A beautiful, varied trail. Came down via Mystery Lake.

Mount Seymour  Sucess!

Hiked around Seymour towards Elsay Lake, decided to climb back uphill and hike to Seymour instead. Great views of Burrard Inlet.

I have climbed various routes to the three peaks on multiple trips over the past seven years. Perfect for a summer day hike/ winter snowshoe if you wake up late.

When I summited this peak there was still plenty of snow mantling her but it was as fine a June day as I have seen. I hadn't been up above 1000feet in quite a while so it took my lungs by storm... The view from the summit is astounding the entirety of Vancouver stretching before you... Lilloet,Cathedral the Lions and majestic Crown all in sight as well as countlesss other redoubtable spires. While their altitude may not be impressive these are still very serious mountains. A fun climb/hike to put your lungs through the paces. I especially enjoyed the 15 minutes it took to return... half running half skiing down the slope. A Great day in the coast mountains!

Route Climbed: Third Peak Date Climbed: May 12, 2002 / April 11, 2004 / Sept 2, 2010 / Dec 31, 2010  Sucess!

May '02 was our last training weekend before a group of us were planning to attempt Mount Rainier. The goal was to get out hiking in the local mountains with full packs on. It turned out to be a stellar day!!!! Weather was great. Snow conditions were great. Only a small section on route to First Peak where we had to kick steps, the rest was just upward hiking. We stopped for lunch at First Peak on the only exposed rock we saw all day. The hike from First to Second Peak was quick and easy. There was a bit of a steep descent from Second Peak before heading to Third Peak, our final destination. On our way back, there was lots of bum sliding (weeeeee!) with just a little hike back up Second Peak where we had to kick steps, then pretty much sliding & hiking back to the parking lot. Lots of fun, nothing technical, good excercise.
