Mount Shasta

The northeast side of Mount Shasta awash in morning alpenglow, viewed from the approach to the Northgate trailhead. Directly below the summit is the Hotlum Headwall, which towers above the Hotlum Glacier. The Bolam Glacier is mostly covered by shadow to the right of the Hotlum Glacier. This was taken on my birthday, when my gracious wife gave me a free morning to go play however I saw fit. I chanced to run into the amiable and uber-accomplished SMG at the trailhead. He was heading up for a morning ski. June2012.
