...and Ridgecrest Blvd. was closed 2.5 miles from the East Peak parking lot, so we braved the hazardous conditions and made our summit bid of the highpoint of Marin County on foot. We were the only ones on the summit and only saw about 4 or 5 other people on the road.

Very nice climb. Took my buddy and I about 3 hours to reach the top from Pantoll(we took our time). only bad part was the first sound we heard when we got to the summit was a baby crying. But the views of the city and the bay was worth it.

started at pantoll hiked up to the mountain theater-very cool- continued on the rock spring trail to the fire road to the parking lot and up the boardwalk. nice views. not to crowded on trails. hike down was nice. small redwood groves and pleasent weather. traffic down was crowded but what do you expect on a sunny bay area day

Did the minimal hike from the roads-end on Panoramic Highway since I had two other highpoints in the central valley on the schedule. This was stop 1 of 3 that included Mount Vaca of Solano County and Carpenter Hill of Sacramento County.

The view was great, if a bit hazy.

Did this one with Dennis Poulin after we had done Little Blue Peak. Slept in our vehicles in a parking lot nearby. Then did Mt. Davidson, early the next morning (SF cohp)

Fun hike from the Pantoll ranger station. A little foggy at the bottom, started clearing up about a mile from the summit. Great views, but a bit too crowded for my tastes. Took the Nora and Matt Davis trails down for a little variety. About a 10 mile round trip.

Ok, so I have to be honest that I hate this mountain, so the only way I would agree to hike it was at loopdedo's suggestion that we hike it from sea level on one of the rainiest days ever (no people). So I agreed and set off in my jeans. Ok that was a bad idea, but we did it, and couldnt see a lick from the top. Thats the only way I would ever want to hike on this mountain - I'm a mountain snob and this one doesnt cut it.

Nice hike. The wooden planks leading to the summit were iced over when I headed up there in the morning.

Hiked to the summit with my wife and a friend from England. An amazing mountain so close to a major urban region, and yet I felt like I could be far away in a much more remote location.
