With Dunbar Carpenter. Unpleasantly slide-y ascent up to col; fun scrambling on big blocks up to the top.

Climbed in combination with Haeckel. Stuck to the ridge after getting tired of the loose crap for more enjoyable class 3. Summit block was fun, and a nice little surprise.

1000' of crappy, loose, steep, class 2/3 climbing with a with a fun summit block. Plenty of boulder hopping on approach too. It would probably be a more pleasant climb in good snow year.

Quick sidetrip from Wallace Col en route to a four day trip, mostly in the Ionian Basin. Selected Wallace Col over Echo Col so I could forgo the ice ax, with the benefit of grabbing a couple extra peaks on the way. Swung by Fiske as well before making it to the basin.

The route up is a sandy nightmare with a full pack!

This is an easy addition to climbing Haeckel, which is a much cooler climb. The route across the col is really straight forward, and of course the views are great as always in the Sierra!

Climbed via the North face route then continued on the traverse to Haeckel. Pretty loose and crappy down low, gets more solid and fun higher up near the summit.

I climbed the peak from Wallace Col on the way to an overnight camp just on the west side of the crest. Neither side of Wallace Col was particularly enjoyable, with the west side being especially loose.

Climbed up mostly in snow, so it wasn't to bad... as part of a traverse from Picture Peak... continued on to Clyde Spires.

I forget the exact date. Abby Sirulnik was not thrilled about the loose, second/third-class descent. But she did so well I later married her!

After having climbed Mt. Fiske, we approached from the southwest up to the left of Wallace Col and turned left on the ridge to the summit. That summit block was a great photo op spot. Descended the southeast face.

Tried haeckel from their twice, no luck- I feel like an idiot. Any suggestions?

Climbed with my son Alex McLeod, Mark Danner, and Keith Erke. A long hard scramble from camp at Dingleberry Lake. A big pile of rock! Up NE slope, down SE slope. No fun either way!

Dayhike out of Sabrina Lake, up a class 4 chute to the NE Ridge/N Face. A dusting of snow on the face(6-12") made it slippery and very interesting. Wonderful views from the top and great fall colors at the lake. Descended the NW Ridge toward Haeckel.

This years significant snowfall made for an interresting climb on the otherwise loose scree filled Southeast Slope.
